LEAP (Local Energy Advice Partnership) is a national programme that provides free, independent energy advice and practical support to households. It’s designed to help people deal with real energy issues and access appropriate support, rather than navigate complex systems on their own.
Support through LEAP may include help with heating and hot water issues, access to essential appliances such as white goods, energy bill support, and referrals to relevant schemes or services.
What’s offered depends on the household’s circumstances — not every visit leads to the same outcomes, and support is provided where it’s appropriate and genuinely helpful.
During a visit, I take time to understand the household’s full situation, not just energy use. This can include discussing heating, bills, property conditions, safety concerns, and wider issues affecting comfort and wellbeing.
Advice and referrals are based on professional judgement, with the aim of providing the right support at the right time — not a one-size-fits-all solution.
